We used to like you, Mark…
But we’re leaving Facebook for good.
It’s quite simple.
Over the past ten years, Meta has transformed our society for the worse. Billions of people get exposed to hateful, violent, and polarizing content each day. Meta builds informational vortices for people to descend into radicalism, toxicity, and depression. Meta evolves their attention-grabbing algorithms forcing us to come back more often — and stay longer. It has become a bad drug of the information age. It is an agent, a tool, and an environment that shapes our society for the worse en masse.
Instead of accepting and overcoming these problems, they put effort into perfecting their whitewashing arguments. The problems the Meta platform has created can’t be easily solved without a radical change to its core design.
Recently, we’ve been working on setting our values and strategy into stone. One of our core beliefs is that by building Panaxeo, we want to have a positive impact on the world.
The decision to no longer use Meta was a no-brainer, even though exiting such an omnipresent platform will surely be to the economic and marketing detriment of a business like ours. But as a responsible technological company, we believe that information technology is obliged to make the world a “net better”, not a worse. Period.
What are the specifics?
We’re stopping all our marketing activities (including organic) on Facebook and Instagram.
Our accounts remain so that nobody can misuse our name.
The only post you’ll see there is a link to this article.
We will not spend a single € more on promoting our business through Meta.
Where else can you find us?
We are still on LinkedIn, and you can read our blog and news posts.
